A stamp dedicated to Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński
Poczta Polska introduced a stamp commemorating the life and work of Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński. The new publishing house will go into the hands of clients and philatelists on Friday, January 22 this year, exactly on the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth.
The author of the project, Jarosław Ochandzan, presented the image of Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński on the background of brick wall on the stamp. In addition to the stamp, Poczta Polska has published, in a limited version, the FDC envelope, i.e. an envelope on the first day of circulation. It shows a fragment of the manuscript of Baczyński's work entitled Poet's wedding.
- Our latest philatelic emission resembles a legendary figure - a poet recognized as one of the most outstanding creators of the war generation, who had and has a huge impact on the creators of the next generations. Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński set an example that you can fight for his homeland not only with weapons in his hand, but also by the power of the word. On the 100th anniversary of the poet's birth, Poczta Polska, using his educational mission, introduces the "Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński" emission stamp to circulation. This value released in multi -million circulation will go to institutions all over Poland. I hope that this stamp is a symbol of showing designs to follow, as well as honoring exceptional people and human attitudes - says Vice President of Poczta Polska Wiesław Włodek
Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński was a Polish poet of the war period, one of the most outstanding representatives of the so -called Generations of Columbus (a literary generation covering Polish writers born around 1920, for which the period of entering adulthood fell for the years of World War II). He was a soldier of the Home Army and took part in the Warsaw Uprising, during which he died. Baczyński's work is characterized by high dynamics of changes - the evolution of attitude towards reality, which resulted in a change in the repertoire of artistic means. In his 23-year life, ended with the fourth day of the Warsaw Uprising, he created over 500 poems by a dozen or so stories and several poems. His work, but also life attitude today also impresses a trail on Polish culture in both symbolic, national and popular dimensions. Baczyński's poetry is used by popular musicians Janusz Radek, Michał Bajor, Ewa Demarczyk, Lao Che, Czesław Mozil, Mela Koteluk and Budka Suflera.
