Emission that every nature lover will be delighted
This Friday, Poczta Polska will introduce four new postage stamps "Birds of Polish Parks". Publishers present species of birds that can be seen in Polish landscape, national or urban parks.
On the stamps by Paweł Myszka there were colorful photographs of the Duke, Strzyżyk, Dzwieniec and primrose. There were two stamps of each type in the sales sheet. The emission also includes two envelopes on the first day of circuit (FDC). The publishing house is accompanied by an occasional date stamp in the form of a rowan graphic sign, in which information about the date and place of introduction was placed.
The purpose of the emission of birds living in Polish parks is primarily to show the beauty of Polish nature. The publishing house also has an educational function - thanks to the great photographs of birds placed on the stamps, we can learn to recognize and call them correctly.
Birdwatching (English), i.e. amateur observation of birds, is becoming more and more popular in Poland It does not require professional equipment, although an ordinary binoculars may be helpful. In the world, Birdwatching is particularly popular in both Americas and the British Isles. In North and South America as much as 20 percent residents declare observing birds as a way to relax, in the islands of British bird lovers are estimated at 4 million people. What's more, in many countries ornithological tourism is already treated as a commercial business, and bird lovers are able to travel far to see rare species. Poland, with its unique nature, national parks and pure forests, is a great place to develop ecotourism in the form of birdwatching .
Unusual birds on Polish stamps
The large woodpecker (Dendrocopos Major) fascinates not only with its beautiful plumage, but also with unusual adaptations, such as special structures in the brain and intercassal bones, which protect him during intense wood beating.
Strzyżyk (Troglodytes Troglodytes) is a tiny bird that revives the winter landscapes of our parks. It feeds mainly on insects, but during winter it complements the diet with seeds and berries, which shows the extraordinary adaptation to various environmental conditions.
The bell (chloris chloris) belongs to the smallest European bird species. Despite its small size, it is very loud. He is famous for being a rich vocal repertoire with melodic sounds.
Primer (Phylloscopus Collybit) - despite its nice appearance, it can be extremely brave, defending his territory fiercely against intruders.
Poczta Polska promotes the Polish fauna
In 2022, Poczta Polska introduced the first emission stamps "Birds of Polish Parks", depicting Kowalik, Wróbel, Rich and Modraszka. In the same year, the company also issued stamps in a joint broadcast with Argentina's mail. They presented birds appearing only in two regions - a Polish tip in Europe and an Argentine rust potter in South America. In the following year, the broadcast of "Birds of Polish Parks" was presented by Szpak, Grubodzioba, Rudzik and Trznadla.
The first two editions of the "Polish birds" emissions covered stamps in the form of blocks, depicting an ordinary kingfisher in 2014, and in 2019 a white stork, black, white and gray heron. In 2015 and 2017, stamps with eight species of native owls came into circulation, including Eagle, flame, bodies or tissues. In 2019, the "Europe" emission stamp appeared in circulation, presenting the ordinary son -in -law. In the same year, stamps also appeared that were created in cooperation with the Singapore post. The stamps show birds found in both countries: Białobrzucha and traveling falcon.
The substantive consultant of the "Birds of Polish Parks" is Mr. Andrzej Kruszewicz - an outstanding Polish ornithologist, director of the Warsaw Zoological Garden.
The originator of the emission and author of all photos of birds that were included in the graphics of the stamps is Mr. Maciej Zdziarski.
