Leszno on 30 million stamps
Leszno is another topic of the philatelic stamp of the "Polish city" series. The value of PLN 3.30 was in circulation on January 17 on the 100th anniversary of the city's return to the borders of the Commonwealth.
As part of philatelic emissions, Poczta Polska honors the most important Polish heroes and the greatest events of our history, but also commemorates Polish cities and places.
Poland regained independence on November 11, 1918, but Leszno returned to Poland only under the Versailles Treaty on January 17, 1920. A fragment of the monument to the monument to Greater Poland insurgents against the town hall in Leszno was presented in the series of Poczta Polska in a cycle presenting Polish cities.
The headquarters of the Leszno city authorities is a baroque building from the 17th century (later digested by a fire and rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century). The architect of a three -storey building on a rectangular plan was the Italian Pompeo Ferrari. However, the insurgent monument was founded in 1924. In 1957 he was reconstructed and unveiled again. It is made of sandstone. At the front of the monument there is an eagle and date on December 28, 1918. On the left there is an inscription: "Greater Poland Insurgents 1918–1919", and right: "Grateful compatriots 1924".
The stamp was broadcast in a circulation of 30 million pieces. In addition to the Poczta Polska stamp, it issues an FDC envelope (on the first day of circulation), at which the panorama of Leszno was presented.
Until now, as part of the "Polish" Poczta Poczta Poczta Poczta series, Gniezno, Kraków, Warsaw, Kalisz, Płock, Toruń, Pułtusk (on an envelope with a printed postmark sign), Kazimierz Dolny, Sandomierz, Gdańsk, Łódź (with a tag Priority), Poznań, Poznań, Przemyśl, Szczecin, Sopot, Sieradz, Katowice, Częstochowa, Gorze, Wlkp., Chorzów, Racibórz, Jelenia Góra, Nowy Sącz, Żywiec and Białystok.
