The most important Polish cycling race honored with a postage stamp

May 31 this year. Poczta Polska introduced an occasional postage stamp dedicated to Tour de Pologne. This year, the 80th edition of the race will take place, which connects cycling lovers in the country and in the world. A sports holiday is also a great opportunity to present and admire the beauty of Poland.

The solemn introduction of the value in circulation took place at the headquarters of Poczta Polska. This unique event was attended by, among others Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Asset Jacek Sasin, Czesław Lang - a distinguished cyclist and organizer Tour de Pologne and Krzysztof Falkowski - president of the company.

The stamp presents a photograph of athletes riding in the race, including Czesław Lang - a track and road cyclist, Olympic runner -up and a two -time medalist of the World Championships, as well as a sports activist and the organizer of the Tour de Pologne UCI World.

Poczta Polska has been cooperating with Tour de Pologne organizers for many years, appreciating their contribution to the promotion of our country.

The history of the race began in 1928, when the riders set off on the route and cycling around Poland. Tour de Pologne, because this name was taken by the party, grew, but also struggled with many difficulties and obstacles, as well as the reviving homeland. In the history of the race, you can see how the changes that took place in our country in the lens. In 1993, the Olympic runner Czesław Lang began to be responsible for his organization and made the race develop at an unusual pace. The crowning of this was the inclusion of the competition in the ECCI WOCI World Tour cycle in 2005. For years, riders from the best teams of the world have been at his start, and the message reaches millions of people on all continents. These competitions undoubtedly became a showcase of Poland around the world.

This year's 80th edition of the Tour de Pologne, will take place from July 29 to August 4. The race route will be officially announced in June on Polish Television.

This year, the Tour de Pologne celebrates a triple jubilee: 95 years of existence, the 80th edition of the race and the 30th anniversary led by Czesław Lang.
