Poczta Polska restores the possibility of sending shipments to Great Britain

On January 4, 2021, Poczta Polska resumes receiving letter parcels and postal packages addressed to Great Britain. In connection with the exit of January 1, 2021 from the United Union, the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland apply to changes when sending postal parcels with the content of goods. The United Kingdom has been one of the three most popular directions to which postal items from Poland are sent for years.

The resumption of postal services includes letter parcels, including registered mail and postal packages addressed to Great Britain.

Detailed information about what shipments to the countries of the countries are currently carried out by Poczta Polska are available in the table below:

In connection with the difficulties in air transport to some countries, consisting in a significant reduction in connection frequency or suspension of connections by airlines from Poland and restrictions in the work of the operational services of postal operators in Poland and abroad, delays in delivery of shipments sent to the abovementioned countries.

In addition, we would like to inform you that the suspension of accepting postal parcels to other countries not listed above is still in force. We will inform you about the extension of the availability of sending foreign shipments on a regular basis.

At the same time, we would like to remind you that when sending postal parcels with the content of the goods to Great Britain, it is necessary for the senders to complete the CN22 or CN23 customs declarations, depending on the type of parcel, as is the case with sending shipments to countries and territories outside the European Union. In the customs declaration, the sender provides data for the purposes of customs control, including Shipment content, quantity and value of the goods sent with the term currency in which this value is expressed. In the case of commercial shipments, it is desirable to enter the customs tariff code and the country of origin of goods.

In the case of parcels broadcast using the self-panting CP72 form (Print PP SA No. 271), the CN23 Customs Declaration is one of the pages of this form. Therefore, it is enough to fill in this form (including content related fields) and attach an additional copy of the customs declaration (print PP SA No. 241), required by Great Britain.

Postal parcels with the content of goods broadcast in Great Britain from the date of the country's exit from the European Union should also be provided with customs declarations and will be subject to imports in Poland and the required customs and tax fees for imports required.

At the same time, we would like to inform you that from January 1, 2021, VAT exemption in relation to low -value commercial shipments was lifted in Great Britain. For a trade parcel broadcast to Great Britain, GBP 0–135, the seller will have to pay VAT directly to the British tax authority - as if it was based in Great Britain.
