Polish Post Office with a signatory to support a socially integrating labor market
May 10 this year Poczta Polska signed a declaration of inter -sectoral partnership, which aims to significantly increase the employment of people with disabilities. The company is one of the leaders in employing people with disabilities in the open labor market. For years, he has been taking many activities to the professional activation of people with disabilities and promotes diversity in the workplace and its positive impact on the development of the company and including organizational culture.
The partnership declaration was signed by over 20 entities - companies and organizations - operating in the open labor market, in various industries and sectors of the economy. In this way, they committed to supporting the implementation of a dozen or so specific goals related to the equality and prejudice labor market. Among them is, among others Constant support and promotion of employment of people with disabilities and striving to increase the employment rate for people with disabilities in Poland to 40% in the perspective of 2030. Other provisions of the agreement talk about sharing good practices, supporting research to identify important barriers and opportunities in the professional activation of people with disabilities, developing a recommendation for public policies in the activation policies in the area of activation. people with disabilities and labor market or creating cooperation platforms between individual partners of the agreement, serving the implementation of specific projects and initiatives.
The originator and initiator of the Inclu (VI) partnership is the Activation Foundation, which has been involved in education and professional activation of disabled people for over 30 years. It was officially inaugurated during the "Inclu (VI) Sion Congress: a new vision of an open labor market for people with disabilities", during which representatives of various sectors (HR, Business, Administration and NGOs) discussed on employing people with disabilities and introducing and promoting inclusiveness policies. Event participants also talked about trends on the labor market, sustainable development of enterprises, diversity and design of available and including recruitment and employment processes.
Poczta Polska currently employs 1862 people with disabilities, which is 2.79% of all employees employed in the company. In some voivodships, this indicator is over 7%, which is more than the employment rate expected by PFRON. The company recorded the most dynamic increase in employment of people with disabilities in 2018–21 implementing-in cooperation with PFRON and the Activation Foundation-the "Praca-Integration" project. She employed an additional 400 people with a disability certificate.
People with disability decisions work in various positions - in post offices, in sorting plants and in administration. Since 2018, the company also has a "policy of employing people with disabilities."
Research provided by the Activation Foundation shows that currently 32% of people with disabilities are employed in Poland, in the European Union - 50%. They are often employed in positions where they have little development opportunities and promotion (including cleaning, protection, simple office work) and their education and competence are not taken into account.
