The postalists saved the facility in Zakrzewo
On the night of June 13-14 this year. There was a fire of the Post Office in Zakrzewo near Radom. The destruction was so large that the functioning of the facility in the current location seemed impossible. However, postalists showed once again that they are able to overcome difficulties. Thanks to the huge involvement of employees on Tuesday, on June 16, customers were served in the facility.
- Poczta Polska is not an ordinary company. This is a community that can support each other. Together we are stronger, as shown by the example of a fire in UP Zakrzew and the response of employees from other units. The first information after extinguishing the fire was depressing, it was expected to exclude the facility from operation for at least 2 months. Thanks to the involvement of a group of employees from Tuesday, UP Zakrzew returned to work. Of course, the conditions at the office are still difficult, but the crew showed huge layers of strong will. All postal officers who also supported the facility deserve words of appreciation - says Tomasz Zdzikot, president of the board of Poczta Polska.
The probable cause of the fire was a short circuit of the electrical installation. There were 5 state hosts and the Volunteer Fire Brigade at the scene. Employees of the Post Office also arrived, who together with firefighters made a preliminary inspection. Above all, the operating room and computer equipment were destroyed. There was also a threat that the post office data was irretrievably lost, which would cause huge difficulties in reactivating the facility. However, thanks to the involvement of IT employees, they were recovered. Two jobs were also organized in a replacement room.
However, the most important issue was customer service - service for the time of examination tests for eighth graders and payment within the date of pensions. Hard work and extraordinary dedication of many people led to the fact that on Tuesday morning, June 16, tests were delivered to primary schools, pensions were paid and shipments were delivered.
- Recent dramatic events in Zakrzewo have proved that postalists are people for whom nothing is impossible, and the post office works like a family. I would like to thank all employees involved in restoring activities digested by fire. It is really a great thing that in just 3 days we managed to organize work again. I am proud that I can work with such devoted and tireless people - comments Grzegorz Kurdziel, vice president of the Poczta Poczta Board.
All employees of the Zakrzew Post Office fought with the effects of this unfortunate event, as did the employees of the region of the network, infrastructure, logistics department and IT. Conditions in the facility are still difficult, but customers can use postal, bank and insurance services.
