The Polish stamp is the most beautiful in Europe
Poczta Polska won the first prize in the prestigious philatelic competition of Europa Stamp 2020. This year the topic of stamps were former postal routes. This is another distinction for the Polish philatelic value as part of this competition. In 2018, our publishing house took II. Place in online voting.
Poczta Polska Publishing House was appreciated by a group of international Posteurop experts. There were 3 postal operators on the lower levels of the podium who took 2nd place: Postverk Føroya (Faroe Islands), Swiss Post (Switzerland) and SC UkrPoshta (Ukraine) and the closing podium of Deutsche Post Dhl Group (Germany) closing the podium.
The victory in the competition, in which the first prize was decided by a jury of eight outstanding philatelic experts from various environments, including artists, collectors and bloggers, is an extremely valuable success of the entire Polish Post. This honorable distinction on the European arena proves the highest quality Polish philatelic publishing houses.
- The news of the first place is a great joy and a reason to be proud. The prize confirms the highest skills of Polish artists and is an expression of recognition of the philatelic environment in the world for Polish post. I will add that the task was not easy. The aim of the competition was to show old postal routes on such a small and demanding surface as the stamp field. It is worth adding that our project in a symbolic way also shows the essence of interpersonal communication implemented for centuries. The distinction of the Polish publishing house among so many other emissions of postal operators associated in Posteurop is therefore a reason for us to be proud, especially now, during the pandemic period, when our way of communication is becoming more and more dynamic changes, and postal operators must also change with them - said Tomasz Udzikot, president of the board of Poczta Polska.
As part of the cooperation of European postal administrations, special stamps of the Europa series have been issued since 1956. Issions on various topics - showing common roots, culture, history and common goals of European nations - always contain the official Europe logo - a trademark of the Public Postal Administration Association.
Turkish Post PTT (Türkiye) triumphed in the online competition. The next places were taken by Haypost CJSC (Armenia - 2nd place) and Azerpost (Azerbaijan - 3rd place).
