We remind you: changes in the names of the towns and streets let's report to broadcasters

Changing street namesAt the beginning of the year, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration announced the appearance of 10 consecutive towns with the status of the city on the map of Poland. Poczta Polska reminds clients that all such address data updates should be signaled to broadcasters in advance. It is also worth periodically verifying whether the addresses of the recipients have not changed, as postalists cannot correct the content contained in the correspondence.

Every year, the Ministry of the Interior and Administration publishes ordinances, which include a list of changes in the names of some towns and physiographic objects in force from the next January 1. Last year, as many as 340 cities changed, and from the first day of the present - 10 gained the status of the city.

Sender who use wrong data must take into account the failure of the parcel. In the event of a combination of two towns in one, it may turn out that some streets either change the name, or they will duplicate. That is why it is so important to periodically verify the news of your data and inform about any correspondence broadcasters. It is worth noting that changes in the names of the place do not affect the markings of postal codes used by Poczta Polska.

How to avoid problems?

A worth quoting is an example of administrative changes within Zielona Góra. After joining the adjacent towns to this city, the Zielona Góra authorities corrected street names. As a result of this decision, it was added to the existing names of the designation of the connected towns. Therefore, streets were created, such as Łężyca-Inżynierska, Łężyca-Budowlane, Ochla-Szkolna, Nowy Kisielin-Bukowa. If the broadcasters used old addresses, i.e. without the place of the place at the name of the thoroughfare, there could be a problem with the delivery of the parcel. Reason? Street names in the city of Zielona Góra and in the part of the commune duplicate.

The example of the largest city of the Lubuskie Voivodeship is not alone. On October 27, 2002, most of the residents of Wesoła in a referendum decided to enter the city in Warsaw. This small town in Warsaw has become one of 18 districts of the capital. Many popular street names in the new part of Warsaw have duplicated with existing ones. Therefore, broadcasters who send a letter to the recipient living, e.g. at ul. Wspólna in the youngest district of the capital, in the field of the village they should enter "Warsaw-Wesoła".

Changes in the name of the street or town do not need to be reported by Poczta Polska. However, remember about precise shipping addressing and periodic verification of the correctness of our addressees.
