Poczta Polska boards in the PGE Foundation "Memory Boards"
Poczta Polska supplemented the resources of the "Memory Boards" application database with locations closely related to the company's history. The application is part of the PGE Foundation project dedicated to commemorative plaques by Karol Tchorek.
In addition to 167 boards by Karol Tchorek, boards related to Poczta Polska joined the mobile application. Both, both the one located in the post office at Świętokrzyska Street 31/33, as well as the one mounted at 41 Wilcza Street in Warsaw, are devoted to the activities of the scout's field mail. Young people from Gray Ranks provided communication in Insurgent Warsaw. The whole content of correspondence could not exceed 25 words in the letter. It is assumed that postalists transferred 200,000 shipments during the Warsaw Uprising.
The PGE Foundation in cooperation with the Institute of National Remembrance and under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage is implemented by the project "Memory Boards" consisting in placing at, the so -called Cracks of additional plates informing in Polish and English about crimes committed during World War II. The idea of the project is to supplement and popularize information on historical facts among the inhabitants of Warsaw and Polish and foreign tourists.
As part of the project, the website of Tabipartamyci.pl and the mobile application "Memory boards" were created. They allow you to learn the assumptions of the "Memory Boards" project and familiarize with the map, on which all places in Warsaw are marked, where there are boards commemorating the events of World War II.
By downloading the application, you can find out what is currently happening in the "Memory Board" project and learn about the history of the emergence of original boards. On the interactive map you can see where the boards are and learn about the story they are supposed to remind us of. The QR code reader allows you to learn the history of the place where you are (each board has the QR code assigned).
The mobile application "Memory boards" is available for free. You can download it in the Google Play and AppStore store
