Poczta Polska occasional stamp on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the National Education Commission
On October 14, 1773, on the initiative of King Stanisław August Poniatowski, a national education committee was established by a resolution of the partition Sejm. This year we are celebrating the 250th anniversary of this momentous event. On the occasion of the Jubilee, Poczta Polska, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science, prepared a special philatelic emission. The stamp will be put into circulation on October 14.
Heritage of the National Education Commission
250 years ago a National Education Commission was established - the first central secular educational authority in Poland and Europe. KEN's activity was the greatest cultural achievement of Polish enlightenment. Successive generations drew from her heritage, especially in difficult times of partitions. This year's jubilee is an opportunity to recall and commemorate the Heritage of KEN.
The National Education Commission was established extremely difficult conditions - just after the first partition of Poland. It was this institution that thoroughly reformed Polish education, introduced a model of patriotic and civic education and a modern education program. Her work has become a model for Europe and an inspiration for many generations of Poles.
Occasional stamp on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the establishment of KEN
The stamp presents the image of King Stanisław August Poniatowski based on a picture by Marcello Bacciarelli, which is in the collection of the Royal Castle in Warsaw. The name "250 was placed along the bottom edge. Anniversary of the establishment of the National Education Commission "and the inscription: Poland. In the upper left corner there is a marking of the value, and along the right side the inscription: Król Stanisław August Poniatowski. The broadcast is accompanied by the first day of circulation (FDC) and date stamp.
In the implementation of the issue, the Museum of the Royal Castle in Warsaw and the Main Archives of the former files were also cooperated.
