GELPoczta Polska presented a circular stamp commemorating the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Elbląg diocese. The stamp is another broadcast of Poczta Polska, which aims to commemorate important anniversaries and jubilees also regarding the figures and sacred buildings, which are of great importance for building the religious identity of Poles. 

A solemn presentation of the stamp, with the participation of the bishop of the Diocese of Elbląg Jacek Jezierski, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of State Asset by Andrzej Śliwka and the Vice President of the Board of Poczta Polska Wiesław Włodek, took place in the building of the Diocesan Curia of Elbląg. Leonard Krasulski (Law and Justice Parliamentary Club) also took part in the ceremony.

 The stamp commemorating the 30th anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of Elbląg is another issue of Poczta Polska, which aims to commemorate important anniversaries and jubilees, including those regarding figures and sacred buildings that are of great importance for building the religious identity of Poles.

- By offering its clients the thematic diversity of philatelic publishing houses, Poczta Polska also raises topics on the latest history of Poland. Undoubtedly, it includes a new division of church administration in Poland in 1992. As a result of this reorganization, the Diocese of Elbląg was created. Poczta Polska decided to celebrate this jubilee with a circulation stamp that will help to bring public opinion to pastoral work and care for the Catholic Church in this area for social affairs. I believe that this stamp will appeal not only to the inhabitants of the region and city of Elbląg - says Wiesław Włodek, vice president of Poczta Polska.

 

 

The diocese of Elbląg is one of the three dioceses of the Latin Warmian metropolis in Poland. Established on March 25, 1992, by virtue of the bull "Totus Tuus Poloniae Populus" by Pope John Paul II, which established a new administrative division of the Catholic Church in Poland. The territory of the Diocese of Elbląg was selected mainly from the part of the Dioceses of Warmia and Gdańsk.

The cathedral of Elbląg bishops presented in the presented stamp is a Gothic temple from the fourteenth century. She was dedicated to Saint. Mikołaj - bishop, patron of sailors and the Union of Hanza cities. Attention is drawn to the powerful, 97-meter height of the cathedral tower. In the upper left corner of the stamp is the coat of arms of the Elbląg Diocese, and the name "30 is placed at the bottom. Anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of Elbląg. " Along the bottom edge of the stamp there is an inscription: Poland and the designation: Economic S, which corresponds to the nominal value of the postage stamp competent to pay the fee for the economic letter unregistered in domestic transactions in the S -format and economic postcard in national trade.
