The author of the project, Bożydar Grozdew, presented the image of Ludwig van Beethoven in the form of graphics according to the sketch of August von Kloeeeter from 1818. According to the author of the stamp, both notes, staff and images were used to create a new compilation, allegory of music that flows from the stamp, is in Beethoven's head, hovers on his matted hair, lives - the composer emanates music. In addition to the stamp, Poczta Polska has published, in a limited version, the FDC envelope, i.e. an envelope on the first day of circulation. It shows the notes and staff of one of the songs of the German Master of Music.
- In its philatelic emissions, Poczta Polska does not forget about the world cultural heritage. An example of honoring the greatest world music creators is the latest stamp published on the anniversary of the birth of a brilliant composer, one of the greatest and most talented artists in the history of music Ludwig Van Beethoven. It is enough to recall the famous "knocking fate to our gates", i.e. the fifth symphony called the Symphony of destiny, "Ode to joy", or the final of the 9th Symphony, "For Eliza" or "Moon Sonata" Cis-Moll OP. 27 to recognize the genius of this composer. The hero of our latest stamp is proof that despite such great restrictions and adversity - progressive deafness, depression, suicidal thoughts, separation from the environment - thanks to the consequences and persistent pursuit of perfection, you can overcome your weaknesses. I believe that due to the exceptional aesthetic values, our broadcast will appeal not only to lovers of classical music - says the vice president of Poczta Polska Wiesław Włodek.
Ludwig van Beethoven was a German composer and pianist - the last of the Viennese classics (the other two died: Wolfgang Amadeusz Mozart and Franz Joseph Haydn). Despite entering the music of the German master in the style of classicism, he is also considered a precursor of romanticism in music. His work marked the direction of music development for the entire nineteenth century. It owes its global popularity above all to its nine symphonies. Beethoven composed about 240 works including piano concerts, string quartets, these symphonies and one opera. The German composer was a perfectionist who in his works combined an excellent form and even tangible emotions, mainly based on permanent fight and heroism.
