A stamp commemorating Kornel Morawiecki
On Monday, May 3 this year, Poczta Polska introduced the "Kornel Morawiecki" emission stamp to circulation. The value will hit the hands of clients and philatelists exactly on the 80th anniversary of the birth of the founder of "Solidarity Fighting".
In addition to the stamp showing the figure of Kornel Morawiecki, Poczta Polska also published, in a limited version, the FDC envelope, i.e. the envelope of the first day of circulation. It presents a photo in which the Marshal - Senior opens the first sitting of the Sejm of the Polish Republic of Poland (12.11.2015).
- Poczta Polska will honor one of the key characters in the contemporary history of Poland and its significant co -creator by broadcasting. Marshal Kornel Morawiecki is a symbol of disadvantage and uncompromising struggle for Polish sovereignty. In his statements he emphasized that the good of our country and the nation is the greatest and indisputable value. This message in a special way close to Poczta Polska, one of the oldest Polish institutions, whose fate for 463 years is inseparably entwined with the history of Poland - emphasizes Tomasz Zdzikot, president of the board of Poczta Polska.
Kornel Morawiecki died in 2019. He was a politician (MP and Speaker of the Sejm Senior of the 8th term) and an anti -communist opposition activist in the PRL. He was a theoretical physicist by profession. In 1982, he founded a "Fighting Solidarity" in Wrocław, an anti -communist underground organization that conducted extensive activities for Polish sovereignty. In 2019, he was awarded the Order of the White Eagle - the oldest and highest state decoration of the Republic of Poland.
In June 2017, Poczta Polska introduced the "Fighting Solidarity" emission stamp into circulation. The value was issued on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of this organization.
