A stamp commemorating the apparitions of Sister Faustina
On Monday, February 22 this year, Poczta Polska introduces the emission stamp "90. Anniversary of the apparitions of Jesus Merciful Sister Faustina. "
A picture depicting St. Faustina and Saint. John Paul II, by Barbara Strzyińska-Zdanewicz, while on two tags there are images of Merciful Jesus:
- On the left - a picture by Eugeniusz Kazimirowski from 1934, located in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Vilnius, Lithuania (this is the only picture painted in the presence and according to the instructions of Sister Faustina);
- On the right-a picture by Adolf Hyła from 1944, located in the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Krakow-Łagiewniki (painted on the basis of notes in the "Dziennik" sister Faustina).
In addition to the stamp, Poczta Polska has published, in a limited version, the FDC envelope, i.e. an envelope on the first day of circulation. It shows the photograph of the interior of the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Częstochowa - Pallottine Priests "Valley of Mercy". The date stamp contains the logo of the Mercy Valley.
- Poczta Polska uses its philatelic publications to remind of great figures in the history of the Church. Recently, we have introduced stamps honoring John Paul II, blessed Eusebius - the founder of the Pauline and father Józef Maria Bocheński. The latest value commemorates the revelation experienced by Sister Faustyna Kowalska from the Congregation of Our Lady of Mercy. We hope that our publishing house will contribute to the dissemination of the Polish Saint's certificate - said Wiesław Włodek, vice president of the Poczta Polska Board.
Saint. Sister Faustina Kowalska belonged to the Congregation of the Mother of God of Mercy. A mystic, stigmatian and apostle of Divine Mercy, who gave the world the cult of Divine Mercy. In 1931 she experienced the grace of the Lord's revelation. The author of the diary, in which she described her spiritual experiences - the notes of the mystical experiences of Sister Faustina went to the index of prohibited books for 20 years. Thanks to the content provided by the nun, Catholics, Orthodox and Protestants around the world refuse the Lace of Divine Mercy - translated into all languages of the world. In 2000, canonized by Pope John Paul II.
