Stamp on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of granting city rights to Minsk Mazowiecki

minsk_mazowiecki_zniczekOn Saturday, May 29 this year, Poczta Polska introduced another post stamp from the "Polish Cities" series. This year's value, in a circulation of 5 million, will be dedicated to Minsk Mazowiecki, which celebrates the 600th anniversary of city rights.

The author of the project, Andrzej Gosik, presented on the stamp a fragment of the monument of independence and the church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Mińsk Mazowiecki.

- One of the manifestations of the Polish Post Office for small local communities is supporting local events, anniversaries, history, nature and art, while presenting their history, architecture and characteristic symbols. The 600th anniversary of the castle location is one of such events that you cannot pass by indifferently. That is why our latest circulation stamp was dedicated to Minsk Mazowiecki. We present a city with a rich history and a very active local community that is proud of its "little homeland" - says Wiesław Włodek, vice president of the Poczta Polska Board.

Targowa settlement Minsk received a location privilege from the Masovian prince Janusz and on May 29, 1421. It was one of the first private locations in Eastern Mazovia.

Currently, Minsk Mazowiecki is a dynamically developing urban center, in which great emphasis is placed on promoting culture, history and cultivating local social ties.

In addition to the Poczta Polska stamp, it will issue an FDC envelope (on the first day of circulation), in which photography (dated to the 1930s) of the Dernałowicz Palace will be presented.

Until now, as part of the "Polish" Poczta Poczta Poczta Poczta series, Gniezno, Kraków, Warsaw, Kalisz, Płock, Toruń, Pułtusk (on an envelope with a printed postmark sign), Kazimierz Dolny, Sandomierz, Gdańsk, Łódź (with a tag Priority), Poznań, Poznań, Przemyśl, Szczecin, Sopot, Sieradz, Katowice, Częstochowa, Gorze, Wlkp., Chorzów, Racibórz, Jelenia Góra, Nowy Sącz, Żywiec, Białystok, Leszno and Bydgoszcz.
